On the 10th of July 2021, a pilot project in three districts, namely Gwalior, Jabalpur and Bhopal, was opened by the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority [MPSLSA] online dispute resolution platform. The platform was opened by MPSLSA's Judge Mohammad Rafiq, Chief Justice and Chief Patron, MPSLSA's Justice, Prakash Shrivastava, Executive Chair, and Madhya Pradesh became the first country in India to utilize the online dispute resolution platform as a means to settle conflicts via mediation. MPSLSA's press release states that the platform will allow the people to resolve disputes from within their homes' safety.
For the new advent, MPSLSA has identified and trained community mediators and partnering with SAMA, an on-line platform recognized for technical support by the Ministry of Law and Justice of India. The process consists of receiving a Call for online mediation and a permanent solution acceptable to both parties by the Urja Mahila Helpdesks. The MPSLSA considers the initiative to enhance the access of people to justice across physical distance barriers. They plan to spread the project throughout Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior districts of the State Shri Vivek Johri, Chief Police Officer, Pragya Richa Shrivastava, Shri Swaraj Puri, Shrí Rajendra Kumar Vani, Chief Executive Officer of the MLA (Ministry of Police), MLA Singh, Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, Shri Arvind Shrivastave, Addressing General Secretary of MPSLSA, and MLAS Giribala Singh, Shri Manoj Singh.
The MPSLSA considers the initiative to enhance the access of people to justice across physical distance barriers. They plan to spread the project throughout Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior districts of the State The platform will deal with domestic violence, neighboring conflicts, property issues and other family disputes in accordance with the Standard Operating Protocols. The matter shall be decided within seven days of allotment unless a period of no more than thirty days is required. The police officer will check the appropriateness of the question for mediation upon receipt of a complaint and refer the matter to him after both parties' consent has been obtained.
